Dreams Really Do Come True for Prom with the Fairy Godmother Project of Houston

As a Professional Organizer, one of my jobs is to find worthy causes that my clients can donate their gently used clothing. This organization is right up there as a top notch place to donate for a wonderful cause - The Fairy Godmother Project. Here you can donate new and gently used cocktail and formal dresses, dress shoes, jewelry and accessories. In turn, these items are given free of charge to Houston area high school students who are not in a position to spend much on their prom attire.

Take a few moments to check out their website, and check your closet for items you may be able to contribute. Prom is a right of passage that every high school guy and gal should be able to experience, so be someone's 'fairy godmother' and donate today!

Signs of Spring at the Ranch

It's only early February, but Mother Nature is getting a head start on Spring. The daffodils are blooming (can't understand that since we are in a severe dought) and babies are being born. Last weekend, we welcomed "Spice" a baby jenny - for those of you are are unfamiliar with that term, it's a baby girl donkey. Ginger, her mom is one proud mama, and baby Spice looks just like her papa Uncle Jesse. She is a cutie for sure!

OMG! Call Me Cheesecake

Next to chocolate, I think one of my other favorite foods is cheesecake. I am famous for my homemade New York-style Blueberry Cheesecake. Yummy, and shocking it doesn't contain chocolate. Sometimes I surprise myself.

So when I heard that The Cheesecake Factory is promoting a contest for their 30-year anniversary, well, I was all ears. "What's Your Flavor?" is the name of the contest, and I am getting the word out to everyone I know. Not only does the winner get their cheesecake masterpiece they create added to TCF menu, but an added perk is a trip to the original Beverly Hills location for the debut of the winning 'cake'. Since I grew up close the The 90210, I could use a trip home. I remember a treat my senior year in high school was to go to get a slice of cheesecake on Beverly Drive. In other words, that location has been there a long time.

Of course chocolate didn't escape my notice - TCF has a decadent special cake in honor of their anniversary - The 30th Anniversary Chocolate Cake Cheesecake. Sweet Jesus, hold me back! I thank my lucky stars I am not a diabetic, because this is on my "must have for Valentine's Day" list. Honey, are you reading this? GET ME THIS CAKE IF YOU REALLY LOVE ME! (nothing like being subtle).

So, get on-line, enter this contest and let me know if you win. I expect a piece of the winnings.
