Hands down, my choice is Office Depot here in Katy. I have been shopping the the store on Fry Rd for 11 years, and never seem to have a problem finding what I need.In all fairness, the guys at Office Max on Westheimer Parkway are as nice as could be, but the store itself is sorely lacking in, well, office supplies. Isn't it an office supply mega store? I thought so until I went yesterday to pick up some supplies and they were out of most of what I was looking for. When I asked one of the reps that was wandering around if they had more in stock (like in a store room - what a concept) he replied, "No, we don't stock much". He did offer to call another store and see if they had what I was looking for, and in my annoyance, I replied, "No thank you, I will just go to Office Depot". Sadly, I will try and not step foot in an Office Max again after that experience, and off to Office Depot I went -
Not only did Office Depot have everything I needed, the prices were much better in comparison. I never gave it a second thought previously between the two, but it was obvious the difference in the prices as I loaded my cart with supplies. Yes, that's right supplies - office supplies. Of which Office Depot seemed to have plenty of. And I will also mention, the selection is far better at Office Depot than at Office Max.
So, there you have it - I will remain a loyal Office Depot customer, and only shop at Office Max if I am desperate or under duress. I like the Office Depot slogan - "Taking Care of Business"... an appropriate saying since they obviously take their business of customer service seriously and therefore I can take care of my business.
